I discovered the Magaña & Van Dyke Dominick Marsala Memorial Scholarship through the OVC Scholarship Network. I was excited to apply because the prompt wasn't one I had seen before. Creating my submission turned out to be a truly enjoyable experience—from scriptwriting and filming to animating and editing, I found myself having fun every step of the way. When I found out I’d been selected as a recipient, I was overjoyed and deeply relieved. This award will significantly ease the financial burden that college has placed on my family, making it easier for me to focus on my studies and for my parent to focus on their lives and careers. I plan to pursue a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Animation and Games, while also double minoring in Marketing and Exercise Science. With these educational goals, my long-term ambition is to become an art director at an advertising firm or a storyboard artist at an animation studio, where I can combine my passion for creativity and my desire to contribute to innovative storytelling.
